Nice to meet you. We are a small group of old friends based on USA sharing the same interest about science and technology.

Javier Vidal (Technology director)

Javier is a full-stack Software Engineer located in California. With broad experience bootstrapping software-as-a-service products, Javier leads Cognition website development and maintenance, provides user support, and coordinates integration with other platforms.

Elisabet Alzueta PhD (Project developer)

Elisabet is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Stanford Research Institute, California. Her background is in psychology and cognitive neuroscience. She conceived Cognition during the COVID-19 pandemic (2020), when many researchers had to move their experiments online. She coordinates the team, gives scientific advice on designing new features, and manages the platform’s communication.

Sebastian Michelmann PhD (Scientific advisor)

Sebastian is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Princeton University, New Jersey. In his research, he mostly uses electrophysiology and behavioral studies to understand human episodic memory. With his experience in running large-scale online experiments, Sebastian brings a user perspective to Cognition. He helps to ensure that the needs that experimenters have and the challenges that they face are optimally addressed by the platform.

Mar Yebra PhD (Scientific advisor)

Mar Yebra is a Postdoctoral Research Scholar at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles. Her background is in biomedical engineering and neuroscience. Mar has a bridge role in Cognition, being an intersection of disciplines. She helps to attend the platform technological challenges based on her experience designing online experiments.
